
Michael Höchtl is a multi-gold and platinum awarded mixer based in Vienna.
About.
Born in 1996 in Upper Austria, Michael started his musical career early on when he began producing his own music with the age of 12. With the ambition to turn his "hobby" into a profession, he went to university to study Audio Engineering.
After graduating from FH Salzburg in 2019, Michael established his own business as a freelance mixer.
2 years later he started as an assistant engineer at Sunshine Mastering, a very prominent mastering studio in Vienna, and since then has been working on establishing himself as a sought-after mix engineer not only in Austria but also in Germany and the rest of Europe.
Michael Höchtl has not only contributed to multiple gold and platinum award-winning records, he has also been part of songs and artists honored with the “Amadeus Austrian Music Award”.
In 2025, he was also responsible for the mix of the winning song “Wasted Love” by JJ at the Eurovision Song Contest in Basel - a milestone in his career to date.
Michael always strives to enhance songs sonically and emotionally whilst retaining the artists' creative vision.
